"In this first book, which we have prepared to be taught in the Hadith Texts course at Faculties of Theology, we have selected the hadiths from Bukhari's Sahih. In making this selection, we aimed for two things. The first is to gain knowledge about the system and content of the Sahih by choosing one or several hadiths from the various chapters of almost every section of Bukhari as much as possible; the second is to gain knowledge about what the Prophet said regarding religious, moral, and social issues. In line with this aim, we have also included many verses found in Bukhari's chapter headings. At this point, we aimed to discover Bukhari's method of creating chapter headings, benefit from the messages of the verses, and see the integrity of the Quran and Sunnah as well as Bukhari's success in reflecting this. In addition to translating the hadiths, we have also tried to interpret them as much as possible. However, we did not choose to interpret every hadith. Since our book was prepared specifically in a course format, we tried to act within the framework of a responsibility to consider the benefit of the student."
