Imam al-Ghazali's greatest work, *Ihya' Ulum al-Din* (The Revival of the Religious Sciences), has been the primary reference source for Muslims in every era, and great trust has been placed in this work. We are now presenting this major guiding work, which Muslims have held in their hands and kept in the place of honor on their bookshelves for centuries, in a brand-new format. Each of the subjects within the work has been translated using a fluent and clear language without ever compromising the original narrative, and each has been turned into a book in its own right. *Ihya' Ulum al-Din* consists of four main sections, each containing ten subjects. The first subject of the third section, "Customs," is about "table manners." Imam al-Ghazali says: "The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: ‘A person even receives a reward for the morsel he takes to his own mouth and the one he extends to his wife’s mouth.’ Such a reward for a person can only be through religion. It occurs if a person extends that morsel for the sake of religion and observes the manners and duties of religion regarding eating. Here (in this book), we will explain the religious duties regarding eating; its obligatory acts, sunnahs, manners, courtesy, and form in four chapters and finally in one section."
