The book titled "Ez-Zaferu’l-Hamidiyye fi Isbati'l-Halife" was first published in India in 1315 AH. Its author, Mawlawi Hafiz Abduljamil Effendi, is an Indian scholar known for his allegiance to the Ottoman Caliphate. The book was written at the request of the Ottoman Foreign Ministry as a response to the anti-caliphate propaganda carried out by British colonialists in India and surrounding countries. During that period, British imperialism was exerting pressure on Muslims in Asia, and Muslims had pinned their hopes on Sultan Abdulhamid Khan. The work aims to refute claims challenging the legitimacy of the Caliphate of Abdulhamid II.
