This work is the product of an interest that emerged through the efforts of our master, Mahmud Efendi (may his secret be sanctified). Its content covers the history of the İsmailağa Mosque, introduces its interior, exterior, and geographical features with the support of visuals and maps, and includes the biographies of the Sheikh al-Islams in the mosque’s graveyard. The introduction of the mosque was carried out as a charitable work in the life of Sheikh al-Islam İsmail Efendi. Furthermore, at the end of the book, under the heading “The Family Graveyard Next to İsmailağa Mosque,” the identities of those buried there are provided, along with their epitaphs in both Ottoman Turkish and modern Turkish.
