With greetings...
Since the month of May contains the anniversaries of the birth and death of the two pioneering figures of Islamic thought and action in our age, the architects of the Great East and Ibda, Master Necip Fazıl Kısakürek and Thinker Salih Mirzabeyoğlu, we have focused on them and their ideas in this issue.
Master Necip Fazıl is the founder of the Great East ideology, a thinker, poet, author, and man of action.
In his works, he presented an Islamic alternative to the secular ideology imposed by the West. With his powerful pen and sharp intellect, the Master provided profound analyses of the historical, political, and social issues of his time.
Commander Salih Mirzabeyoğlu, on the other hand, is the architect of Ibda—the seal of the Great East to be struck upon our age—and a man of thought and action. In his works, he covered the legal, philosophical, political, economic, and social dimensions of Islam, and just like his Master, he dedicated his entire life to his cause.
These two important figures played a significant role in the development of Islamic thought and movement today. Both reached wide audiences with their works and ideas, contributed to the formation of an Islamic consciousness, and became pioneers not only of yesterday and their own day, but also of the future, both through their works and their actions.
In this issue, we address the causes, lives, works, and ideas of Necip Fazıl and Salih Mirzabeyoğlu. Furthermore, while evaluating their impact on Islamic thought and movement, we also provide a look toward the future from the perspective of Great East-Ibda.
