For centuries, the nomadic Kyrgyz people, who sustained their lives through simple agriculture and animal husbandry, became part of the dream of a brand-new world following the collapse of Tsarist Russia. These dreams, initially pursued by only a few people or sometimes even a single individual, would inevitably face the resistance of the status quo. Yet, what can stand in the way of a dedicated soul? As these initial sparks were supported and shared over time, they undoubtedly changed and transformed an entire society. Just as in The First Teacher... The limited education he received during the war caused deep-seated changes in Düyşen, an idealistic young Kyrgyz man. His belief in his ideals drove him to rebel against the centuries-old patriarchal traditions of his village, and he set out to build a school for the village children. Düyşen's struggle is not only the beginning of a story full of pain and sorrow that would change the destiny of himself, his village, and future generations, but also the harbinger of a great epic.
