"The Perils of the Tongue" is a translation of a section from the masterpiece *Ihya' Ulum al-Din* (The Revival of the Religious Sciences) by the great Islamic scholar Imam al-Ghazali. It addresses the afflictions and diseases of the tongue, which is the most significant factor in determining whether people go to heaven or hell. The twenty types of ailments of the tongue and the dangers one falls into through it are examined, and methods of treatment are provided. Imam al-Ghazali emphasizes that, alongside its blessings, the tongue is a danger that can lead to horrific disasters. In this work, meticulously translated by Dilaver Selvi, the sources of all the *hadith ash-sharif* are cited, and necessary footnotes and explanations have been added.
