When the spirit is about to descend somewhere, it begins to form shapes peculiar to itself there. Elements conducive to its descent, without even realizing it, gather together one by one; those that are not conducive, also without realizing it, drift away from this gathering one by one. Such a state is a sign of the spirit’s descent at all times and in all places; yet it is not the descent of the spirit itself.
There have been many times when, although all the signs of the spirit’s descent appeared, the spirit did not descend to the earth due to either an affliction of the place or a glitch in the time, and the seeds of becoming remained under the frost of decay. This was my only fear. It was certain that something would happen, but what would happen was a mystery. The spirit had appeared in the sky, but whether it would descend to earth, whether it would manifest with its full power, remained a secret.
