In this work, which focuses on the Van Küresinli dialect and is more descriptive than comparative, compilation samples were first taken from educated and uneducated men and women aged under 20, 20-40, 40-60, and over 60 living in the central Van neighborhoods of İskele, Yalı, Abdurrahmangazi, Şahbağı, and İstasyon; the central town of Bostaniçi; the villages of Alaköy, Kasımoğlu, Karagündüz, Kıratlı, Yumrutepe, and Yekebağ; the village of Köprüler in the Edremit district; and the Saray district center and Sırımlı village, where the Van Azerbaijanis known as “Küresinliler,” who largely preserve dialectal features, reside. As a result of this examination, it was determined that the features of the Van Küresinli dialect are better preserved in uneducated men and women over the age of 60, and these individuals were selected as the target group. From this target group, source persons were identified who had no issues with their speech organs, had not moved much from their places of residence, had not been in other dialect regions or places influenced by the written language, and therefore had not lost their dialectal features. Compilations made from the identified source persons were transcribed using phonetic signs, and the documentation of the Van Küresinli dialect, which faces the danger of extinction, was produced. Thus, linguistic material was created for the examination of the Van Küresinli dialect, which is one of the living branches of South Azerbaijani Turkish, a contemporary dialect of Oghuz Turkish, in terms of phonology, morphology, and vocabulary. This linguistic material was examined through diachronic and synchronic comparison, and the phonological and morphological characteristics of the Van Küresinli dialect were determined and provided in the analysis section. Furthermore, a dictionary was prepared for words that do not exist in the written Turkish language and words that have changed to the point of being phonetically unrecognizable, as well as a dictionary of idioms and proverbs and a grammatical index covering all words used in the texts.
