Salavat-ı sharifa is to be in communication with our Prophet (peace be upon him) at every moment and in every place. Sending blessings and peace (Salat and Salam) upon the Messenger of Allah is a means of proximity to him and evidence for the acceptance of prayers. In this regard, it is a reason for closeness to Allah (c.c.). For this reason, the "salat" must be recited with a tranquil heart. Tranquility of the heart is only possible when the place and meaning of the salat and salam are fully understood and clarified; it is essential that those who love the litanies (evrad-ı sharifa) of the Qutb al-Rabbani Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani—who was privy to Divine secrets—and his "Dala'il al-Khayrat," known as "Salat al-Kubra," as well as the righteous and our religious brethren, be in a state of tranquil heart to contemplate the meanings and lights while reading them in the clear religion. Know well that the virtues, benefits, rewards, and spiritual fruits produced by the salavat-ı sharifa are too numerous to count. It is difficult for the intellect to grasp them. Reason is not sufficient to understand them. Indeed, some authoritative researchers and great commentators have stated: "Sending salat upon the Exalted Messenger is among the most virtuous of worships." This is because Allah Almighty Himself has sent salat and salam upon Muhammad (pbuh) and has commanded the noble angels and human beings to also send salat and salam upon him.
