"Mimar Sinan is the greatest architect of the Turks. There is no other architect in the world who has built as many buildings as he did. Mimar Sinan, who exalted the name of the Turks with his art and works, carried Turkish architecture forward. Even his students became as renowned as he was and developed Turkish architecture through their own works. Mimar Sinan's works include 81 mosques, 51 masjids, 55 madrasas, 26 schools of Quranic recitation, 17 soup kitchens, 2 hospitals, 7 aqueducts, 8 bridges, 18 caravanserais, 6 cellars, 33 palaces, 36 baths, 27 tombs, and public fountains. All of these buildings are aesthetic, and it is difficult to construct them in such an orderly and calculated manner. Mimar Sinan exerted great intelligence and effort to create these works. During that period, there was no advanced education or master craftsmen in the field of architecture among the Turks. Mimar Sinan struggled against these difficulties, strove to build the most beautiful structures, and left behind immortal works. These works will not disappear as long as the world exists, and Mimar Sinan's name will not be erased from the memory of not only the Turks but the entire world. (Ahmed Refik)"
