How many people know that after the National Struggle, a massacre and deportation of Circassians took place in Turkey? The events of our recent history have remained in the dark, been forgotten, or made to be forgotten. In our country, there are two histories: the official ideological history and the real history. There is a great difference between the two. During the time of the single-party dictatorship, the facts regarding our recent history, and especially the War of Independence, were covered up and replaced by a number of mythological superstitions, with white being portrayed as black and black as white. This work consists of bringing together two small books published in 1923 by Mehmed Fetgerey Şeonu, one of the Ottoman Circassian intellectuals, and enriching them with some additions.
