The rulings in the "sam'iyyât" (matters known only through revelation) section of the Creed are established either by verses of the Quran or by mutawatir (consecutively narrated) hadiths. The descent of Jesus (Isa) is one such subject. To pass judgment by hiding behind reason in a matter where the evidence is definitive in both its transmission and its indication opens the door to the denial of many other matters pertaining to the unseen. For in the Science of Kalam, there are countless subjects that cannot be comprehended by intellects that are "like cattle, or even more astray." Allah, the Mighty and Majestic—who holds the solar system in the void, makes the world a center of life by bringing thousands of factors together, gives the faculty of speech to the tongue (a piece of flesh), and places the hearing system in the ear (a mixture of bone and flesh)—is certainly capable of taking Jesus (peace be upon him) into His presence with his physical body, keeping him alive there, and sending him back to earth before the Day of Judgment.
