The essays brought together in this book are not travelogues. They are notes taken in a notebook that I tried to fill at every step... Although they largely consist of observations on lived realities, ranging from the social to the political, what is essential is the effort to fill that blank page. This could also be called fragments of the idea of the journey.

While notes taken at different times about the same place may reflect changes over time, they primarily reflect the fluctuations in the traveler's perceptions of that place. Notes taken repeatedly about certain places and geographies bear the traces of an unchanging quest within their author.

In this sense, the fact that these writings, spanning over a decade, revolve around the same places, prioritize certain geographies, and the questions they ask are journey-thoughts regarding the constants assigned amidst change. The search for a historical projection always accompanies the quick notes and associations taken in the hustle and bustle of travel.

Unlined Notebook is, in fact, an attempt at remembrance against the ideological temptations of modern times regarding our geography where borders have been shattered. It is a notebook of consciousness, every page of which awaits to be rewritten...
