Some have spoken of the virtues of living alone, while others have discussed the values and superiority of being part of society. However, both perspectives have their merits and their flaws. Nevertheless, most devotees and ascetics have consistently preferred the side of seclusion and solitude. They have regarded the path of living alone as superior to being among the public.
