This work is essentially a commentary on a blessed hadith describing the number of branches of faith. The author of the work, Ismail Hakki Bursevi (may his secret be sanctified), was a person who experienced both the hardships and the ease of life, rose from the common people to become a tutor to sultans, served as both a student and a teacher in madrasas, acted as both a disciple and a spiritual guide in dervish lodges, engaged in teaching, served as a preacher, endured poverty, attained prosperity, interacted with different nations of the Ummah of Muhammad in various lands, and in short, lived a life full in both material and spiritual terms. What a great blessing it is that a Sufi, commentator, preacher, and perfect spiritual guide has authored a commentary on such a blessed hadith. Ismail Hakki Bursevi (may his secret be sanctified) prepared this work in a way that enables a person to reform their faith, deeds, and character, and to remain on the straight path, regardless of their station. As will be seen upon reading the work, it touches upon almost every field of religious sciences and provides sufficient coverage of topics needed by Muslims of all ages. It reveals how a perfect spiritual guide illuminates the path of the individual and society like a lamp, how they touch upon life, and how they act as a beacon showing where and how Muslims should seek provisions for this world and the hereafter. As the title suggests, the work examines issues concerning faith first, then worship, and subsequently morality under 9 main headings, touching upon nearly 80 topics under these headings. The original Ottoman text has also been studied and is provided at the back of the book for those who wish to read it in its original form. We have prepared such a work with the aim of illuminating the religious and worldly lives of today's Muslims and present it to you, our valued readers. May it be a means to worldly and otherworldly happiness!
