Ibn Abidin (may Allah have mercy on him), in his work titled Ijabatu'l-Ghawth which we present in translation, discusses certain groups of figures of importance in the science of Sufism and the spiritual influence of these individuals. In this sense, the treatise explains the "rijal al-ghayb" (men of the unseen).

In this small-volume treatise, he does not touch upon all the terms related to the rijal al-ghayb; he has preferred to explain the most prominent ones and those in administrative positions. Accordingly, he discusses the qutb, abdal, awtad, nujaba, nuqaba, and ghawth in his treatise. He also refers to the concept of imamayn in two places.

Ijabatu'l-Ghawth consists of an introduction, four main chapters, and a conclusion in terms of its content. Additionally, there is an appendix and a munajat (supplication) at the end of the work. Many books and important scholars from Islamic history have been utilized in the treatise, thereby lending strength to the work and the subject matter through these names.
