Fuzuli once said,  “Poetry without knowledge is like a wall without mortar or a plan.” Is this not true for everything? Yes, for those who capture the balance, find the middle path, and manifest the most beautiful in speech, work, and conduct have always been the ones to succeed.

Are there few such poets of ours? Certainly not!

We have included forty of our poets here, each with one of their poems. We have brought together these masters and their words—words that have spoken from the past to the present and still  stir our hearts, caress our souls, and add value to our minds —on this occasion once more.

We have presented poems from both our past and present, written in  Ottoman Turkish, for your benefit. We have supported them with  vocabulary. In doing so, we wished for us to both let these  40 essential words descend from our eyes to our hearts, improve our  Ottoman Turkish practice, and strengthen our bond with history by  enriching our vocabulary.

Our hope is that for each of us, especially our youth who will build the future, we may come to live life with a comprehensive perspective and wealth of knowledge. May we break out of our narrow molds, and while our feet remain firmly planted in the foundations, may our imagination and excitement be free to roam the horizons.

It is our greatest wish that many such beautiful works may come to life in this field.
