In 1933, Ömer Rıza and Eşref Edip, the owner of Âsâr-ı İlmiyye Library, realized the need to publish works that would appeal to the national and religious sentiments of the youth in the new alphabet following the reforms after the proclamation of the Republic, particularly the Alphabet Reform, and subsequently led the publication of such works:
"Our esteemed readers, who follow and appreciate the serious publications of our library, have mentioned the need and necessity for works printed in the new alphabet that will strengthen the national and religious sentiments of the new generation and increase their Islamic knowledge. The repetition and persistence of these requests led us to consider this matter with great importance. Thanks to the fruitful and commendable efforts of the Republican education system, we deemed it appropriate to prepare a series of publications that would show the development of Islam in every material, spiritual, scientific, and literary field to the enlightened youth growing up, and to publish them under the name 'Library for the Youth'."
Acting with these thoughts, the first book of the 'Library for the Youth' series at that time, "What is Islam?" authored by Ömer Rıza Doğrul, joined the Büyüyenay collection in 2023. The work titled Is Religion Declining or Advancing on Earth?, which will meet our readers, is the second book of this series and serves as a continuation.
