"The Surest Path to Knowledge Concerning the Condition of Countries" is one of the important sources that sheds light on contemporary Islamic thought. Written by Hayreddin Pasha of Tunis in the 19th century, this reform treatise is one of the rare works reflecting the reform era in the Ottoman Empire. Hayreddin Pasha of Tunis explained his reform program in the introduction to the work. This introduction is considered not only as the beginning of a book but also as a political treatise that explains the start of the reform and modernization movement in the Islamic world. According to the German orientalist Heinrich von Maltzan, this work is one of the most significant works written in the East in the 19th century. Translated from Arabic by Kerim Subhi Muhammed, the end of this work also includes a facsimile of the Arabic edition of the book.
