Question and Answer Religious Knowledge was written by the late Ömer Nasûhi Bilmen, one of the great Islamic scholars and a legacy of the Ottoman era, who also served as the former President of Religious Affairs. Although it was prepared as a "Supplementary Book for Those Taking Mufti, Preacher, and Charitable Service Exams," it offers concise information for any Muslim who wishes to improve themselves by moving beyond the basic catechism (ilmihal) level. It conveys a very serious scholarly accumulation to the reader in a summary and question-and-answer format.
It consists of the following sections in order: Tafsir (Exegesis), Hadith, Kalam (Theology), Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Jurisprudence), Furu al-Fiqh (Substantive Jurisprudence), and Siyer (Prophetic Biography). The topics have been prepared in a numbered question-and-answer format, with the difficulty level increasing from the initial questions onwards. In the book, which consists of 8 parts in total, the largest area is devoted to the science of Fiqh (jurisprudence). The language has been partially simplified while preserving the terminology, the work has been enriched with 197 footnotes, and it has been made easier to utilize with a glossary of terms.
The work also serves as a supplementary book for those preparing for the exams currently conducted by the Presidency of Religious Affairs.
