Most of the "Çerçeve" (Framework) articles penned by the master Necip Fazıl between 1939 and 1943 concern World War II.
In these articles, despite reports from European channels to the contrary, Necip Fazıl claimed from March 1939 onwards that the world was heading toward an unprecedented apocalypse and argued "all by himself" that war would break out. While all the chief editors of the Sublime Porte portrayed the Russo-German pact of late August 1939 as a complete guarantee of peace, he wrote that war was a matter of "a few days," and 3 days later, World War II began.
Throughout the duration of the war, he left everyone in astonishment with his diagnoses that preceded events and his claims, such as "if it doesn't happen, I will break my pen and cut my wrists," all of which came true one by one.
The only thing that could be said in the face of his articles, which were seen as "astonishing political diagnoses that reached the level of almost foretelling the unseen," was this:
–Whatever this man says comes true!
Necip Fazıl’s "Çerçeve" articles from 1939–1943, which reveal the entire course of World War II in its intellectual and political dimensions with a profound culture, understanding, calculation, and intuition, have been compiled in chronological order under the title "War Writings."
The first volume of the work contains the articles from the years 1939–1940.
