Modern Turkish Short Story explores the course of development and orientations of our short story writing through thematic and comparative readings. The book consists of three main sections. In the first section, which includes some observations on concepts, ideas are expressed that help establish a connection between classical short story production and the modern era within the framework of a new perception. The second section examines modern Turkish short story writing from a bird's-eye view. It reveals the course of the genre's development from its birth to the near present. The third section contains thematic, conceptual, and comparative readings in the context of authors and works. Undoubtedly, each section exhibits a structure open to new explanatory texts and additions. However, it can be easily said that the book, as a whole, has realized itself.
In this second edition, the book has been revised, some dates have been updated, and a comprehensive literature study including new essays featuring readings on short story writers and their works has been incorporated into the book.
