Every book has its own adventure. This adventure is actually a destiny that the author first lives through and then shares with their reader. 'İz'ler (Traces) is neither a novel nor a screenplay. However, its format, which resembles the sequential flow of photographic frames, its blending of the past with the lived moment, and the fact that it reflects the author's stance toward life rather than a concern for fiction or form, can be considered a justification for its publication. Aesthetic concerns aside, 'İz'ler emerged as a product of the consciousness to capture a process where the permanent meets the current within a newspaper style, where the universal sense of place intersects with the local, and where the past meets the present and even the future. 'İz'ler attempted to bring together unrecorded memories with the 'moment' experienced but not yet noted. 'İz'ler can be thought of as an answer summoned from the past to the present. It emerged as traces of a search provoked by a concern for continuity and integrity, formed by interruptions between times and spaces. As an answer given from the past to the present, 'İz'ler can also be read as an effort to momentarily strip away our daily rushes, a sensitivity aimed at opening a window to a different world that cares for and observes the living and the living moment, rather than being just a pile of memories.
