Imam al-Kawthari completed the book "al-Imta' bi-Sirati'l-Imamayn Hasan b. Ziyad wa Sahibih Muhammad b. Shuja'", which you have in your hands, on 23 Dhu'l-Qa'dah 1368 (September 16, 1949). In this book, the lineage, ages, hadith and scholarly mentors, students/disciples who received knowledge from them, their relationships with qadis and judges, what has been said about them, the works they authored, and their deaths of the two imams, Hasan b. Ziyad and Muhammad b. Shuja', have been examined.

In the biographical section of the late Hasan b. Ziyad, al-Kawthari narrated sixty hadiths from his book, al-Musnad, along with their chains of transmission (isnad) and examined this under a separate heading.
