Oflu Yusuf Şevki Efendi was one of the late Ottoman scholars. He was among the prominent caliphs of Ahmed Ziyaeddin Gümüşhanevi. Gümüşhanevi and his caliphs provided hope and support to society during difficult times, while also offering guidance by establishing libraries and educational institutions. Their guidance aimed to build a society that sought to practice the morality of our Prophet by reading and teaching the hadiths. One of the most impressive examples of this method can likely be seen in the life of Yusuf Şevki Efendi. This study addresses the independent biographies of Gümüşhanevi's caliphs, as well as İsmail Kara’s work on Sheikh Osman Niyazi Efendi and his lodge in Güneyce-Rize, Hasan Hilmi Özdemir’s study on Bolvadinli Yörükzâde Ahmed Fevzi Efendi, and Mehmet Karayalman’s work on Ünyeli Taslızâde Hacı Yusuf Bahri Efendi. Furthermore, it aims to bring to light a new contribution regarding the same tradition and school.
