The subject of this translation is Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan, may Allah be pleased with him, one of the great Companions of the Prophet, a scribe of the revelation, and the maternal uncle of the Ummah by virtue of being the brother-in-law of our Master, the Messenger of Allah. This work has been prepared against the slanders leveled at him for centuries by the Rafidites and the strife that modernists have sought to incite in recent times. Why has Hadrat Muawiyah been targeted, and why is it important to defend him? A single narration shall suffice to answer these two questions: Abu Tawbah Rabi' Nafi' al-Halabi said: "Muawiyah, may Allah be pleased with him, is a veil for the companions of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. When a person tears this veil, they dare to attack those behind it (the Companions)."
