The book consists of three works...
1- LITERARY COURTS: Under this title, famous names from our literary world—Tevfik Fikret, Yahya Kemal, Mehmet Akif, and Nurullah Ataç—are critiqued in a mock courtroom setting using a humorous style in articles published in the 1945 Büyük Doğu magazines. Additionally, "Tevfik Fikret" and, as a separate topic, "poetry" are discussed in conversation meetings held at different times and places under the guidance of Necip Fazıl.
2 - EASTERN LITERATURE: After a brief and general introduction to Eastern literature, the section on Arabic Literature covers the poets of the "Mu'allaqat al-Sab'a"; the Persian literature section discusses the early authors of the Shahnameh starting with Baba Tahir, and Ferdowsi, along with his life, literary merit, and examples from his works; the Egyptian Literature section contains a translation of one of the oldest stories, belonging to a priestess named Annana, written on papyri. In the final section of the work, titled "Great Figures of the East," Nizami, Al-Ma'arri, Omar Khayyam, Ibn al-Farid, and Saadi are examined, and quite substantial translations from their works are provided.
3 - LANGUAGE REPORTS: Under the main headings of "Poor Turkish" and "From the Language Laboratory," while providing standards regarding the language, the text also addresses, along with a "diagnosis," what the remedies could be for the Turkish language to emerge from the chaos into which it has been dragged.
