Chingiz Aitmatov's work titled "The Day Lingers Longer Than a Hundred Years" was originally intended to include a long chapter titled "The White Cloud of Genghis Khan." However, this chapter, which heavily criticized the KGB, was not permitted to be included in the book and was removed by the author. In this chapter, while describing how Kuttubayev died, the military prosecutor (KGB) who accused him presented a legend he had written about Genghis Khan as evidence. This legend recounts the tragic story of two lovers in Genghis Khan's army, while also exploring the individual's stance against power as a universal theme. Through Aitmatov's narrative, we establish connections between the past, present, and future by means of tales and legends.
