As I understand it, a university should promise its students not only courses, curricula, diplomas, and hope, but also a certain cultivation, discipline, and richness regarding idleness. It should graduate its students not just from the educational program to which they belong, but also from an etiquette of idleness that they know how to govern and that will bring depth and luster to their knowledge. Let us elaborate briefly: If a student has not acquired this etiquette of idleness during their formative years, it means they have acquired the habit of wasting their time. I realize this sounds a bit strange, but here is what I mean: Idleness that has a direction, a policy, and a self-reflective consciousness is something that prevents the squandering of time.

This fruitful journey, full of thought-provoking propositions, reminds us that we are in need not only of an etiquette of idleness, but also an etiquette of looking.
