Hadith refers to every action, every manner, every attitude, and especially every word of our Prophet... Even his silences. It is Islam's fundamental source after the Holy Quran. For this reason, it is a target for the enemies of religion and those “destroyers of religion under the guise of repairing it.” The suspicions cast around the noble companions (Sahaba), the Tabi'un, the Tabi' al-Tabi'in, and the scholars whose reliability the Ummah has agreed upon, are aimed at our Prophet. And through the person of our Prophet, they are aimed at the Holy Quran. They are advancing stage by stage!

THE POSITION OF PERCEPTION

The approach to the noble Hadith is also an indicator of adherence to the principle that "Religion means etiquette... Etiquette is observing boundaries..." Today, Hadith are bandied about not out of respect for the dignity of knowledge, but out of the arrogance that knowledge brings, and our Prophet is spoken of while the boundaries of etiquette are trampled upon.

In this turmoil, Furkan Magazine Editor-in-Chief Saadeddin Ustaosmanoğlu's 40 Hadith book, subtitled "Tasteful Perception" (Zevken İdrak), has been published by Kökler Association Publications. Ustaosmanoğlu has added notes relevant to the present day to the noble Hadith he selected from Ömer Ziyaeddin Dağıstanî’s "Bukhari Zübdesi" (The Essence of Bukhari), within the framework of strictly observing the limits and boundaries.

THE POSITION OF PERCEPTION

In the preface of the book, Saadeddin Ustaosmanoğlu emphasizes that preserving the limits and boundaries depends on being subject to "tasteful perception": "The first and essential condition of this direction is to be subject to tasteful perception or to succeed in remaining in the direction of tasteful perception... If this direction is lost, entering the category of 'ignorant in proportion to one's knowledge' is inevitable. Of course, tasteful perception also expresses degrees... Even if the lowest degree is distant from us, being an observer of that direction constitutes the basis of our thought; it is a matter of intention and action."

THE POSITION OF PERCEPTION

At a time when Islamic terms are flying through the air on television screens, the subject of "tasteful perception" is unfortunately a topic that is not discussed. What is tasteful perception? As defined by the thinker Salih Mirzabeyoğlu, it is the evaluation by the brain connected to the heart of what comes from the five senses. In other words, evaluating objects and events with an intellect connected to the heart. In an era where "I" is in the foreground and the intellect is glorified to a level of idolatry, could anything be more natural than tasteful perception not being mentioned, or even known!.. Let alone possessing tasteful perception?

At the end of his book, Saadeddin Ustaosmanoğlu has also included excerpts from Imam Rabbani, Muhyiddin Arabi, and Abdulaziz Dabbagh that serve as guides to help us maintain our limits and boundaries.
